How to Get Involved
Do you live in the Largo a
rea and have a story to tell? We want to see your creativity!
Create your own 5-minute film clip about a topic that’s important to you. It could be something personal, a local landmark, or an imaginative tale inspired by our community.
Your unique clip will become part of a special community film that we’ll share at local screenings in 2025. It’s a fantastic chance to see your work on the big screen!
Important Deadline
The deadline to submit your film clip is June 30, 2025.
Who Can Participate?
This exciting project is open to all young people living in the Largo Area (including Lower Largo, Upper Largo, Lundin Links, New Gilston and all the places in between). Whether you’re an aspiring filmmaker or just curious, we’d love for you to join us! Please note that all participants under the age of 16 need parental permission to participate.
Submission Guidelines
To ensure all films are appropriate and fit the project’s vision, please follow these guidelines carefully:
Core Requirements:
- Length: All film clips must be a maximum of five (5) minutes in duration. Clips exceeding this length may not be included. It can be less.
- Format: Please upload your film clip in a widely accessible format (e.g., MP4, MOV). High definition (HD) is preferred if possible. Phone filming is fine.
- Content Focus: Your film should reflect some aspect of life, creativity, or imagination within the Largo Area apart from that it’s up to you ! We want fiction, documentary – anything.
- Originality: All content must be original work created by you or your team. If you use any copyrighted material (music, images, etc.), you must have obtained the necessary permissions. Using royalty-free or creative commons licensed material is encouraged.
Content Restrictions (What NOT to include):
To ensure the project is suitable for a youth audience and community viewing, the following content is strictly prohibited:
- No Hate Speech or Discrimination: No language or imagery promoting discrimination, hatred, or violence.
- No Bullying or Harassment: Content depicting or promoting bullying, harassment, or intimidation.
- No Explicit Material: This includes sexually explicit content, nudity, or graphic violence.
- No Illegal Activities: Films must not depict or promote illegal activities (e.g., drug use, vandalism, theft, underage drinking).
- No Profanity or Offensive Language: Please keep language clean and appropriate for all ages.
- No Defamation or Personal Attacks: Do not include content that is false, defamatory, or constitutes a personal attack.
- No Commercial Promotion: Your film should not be an advertisement
- Respect for Privacy: If your film features identifiable individuals, ensure you have their consent. For anyone under 16, parental/guardian consent is required.
- No Misinformation/Disinformation: Content that deliberately spreads false or misleading information is not permitted.
Within these guidelines, we encourage maximum creativity! Be imaginative, be bold, but always be respectful and mindful of your audience.
Submit Your Film Clip
Once your film clip is ready and you’ve read the guidelines, please follow these steps to submit:
- Complete the Submission Form below.
- Name Your File: Please name your film clip file clearly, using your first name and last initial (e.g., “JohnD_LargoFilm.mp4”) or a creative title for your film (e.g., “SunsetOverLargo.mp4”).

- Upload Deadline: All submissions must be uploaded by June 30, 2025.
